On 3rd July, Kolkata is about to host the second edition of NASSCOM PRODUCT CONCLAVE. But what is it and why in heck should you bother? We give you 9 reasons why you should NOT attend this event!
- I AM NOT INTERESTED IN “I.T.”
Well, NPC 2015 is not the place for you then. NASSCOM Product Conclave (NPC) is an annual gathering of product & associated services entrepreneurs, tech startups, VCs, academicians, angel investors and CIOs. It’s a great place to get a feel of state-of-the-art tech that will change the world for good. But you don’t really care about latest tech, do you ?
- I DON’T CARE ABOUT NETWORKING.
So you are a budding techie & you have never even dreamt of having your own startup. So why waste your time getting to know the who’s who of Indian tech galaxy? NPC is a gathering of Indian tech elite – VCs, tech leaders, CIOs, market influencers and fresh new startups – basically the people who are shaping the IT & software industries of India. But hey, why bother meeting these people?
- I DON’T NEED AN INCUBATOR FOR MY STARTUP
Opening a “garage startup” was your dream and you don’t give a damn about a state of the art office setup with top class mentors @2500/month. NASSCOM has launched the 10000 Startup Warehouse in Salt Lake Sector V (its second 10000 Startup Warehouse in India after Bangalore). Read more about the Kolkata Startup Warehouse here – NASSCOM Launches Its Second Startup Warehouse In Kolkata. But why care about awesome infrastructure that you share with equally smart startups when you can sit in your room under the stairs and run your biz?
- I DON’T WANT TO HEAR THE EXPERIENCES OF SUCCESSFUL STARTUPS/ENTREPRENEURS
It is boring isn’t it, to be in the same room with the smartest tech entrepreneurs of our generation & listen to their incredible stories of success? Who would want to listen to Kunal Shah (Founder & CEO, FreeCharge), Ravi Trivedi (Managing Partner, Srijan Capital) or S Anand (Chief Data Scientist, Gramener)? These are successful startup honchos or tech experts or VCs with huge amounts of knowledge to share. But you sure as hell don’t want to talk to this bunch right?
- MY BUSINESS IDEA IS NOT TECH RELATED
Please stay away from NPC Kolkata then! This year at NPC Kolkata 2015 there will be a separate section where companies from different sectors like Manufacturing, Retail, Healthcare, Financial Services etc. will interact with tech leaders and service providers. But your business is not from any of the above segments right?
- IT’S HAPPENING IN KOLKATA? CAN’T BE A BIG DEAL THEN…
Yeah we know this one – nothing cutting edge ever happens in Kolkata right? WRONG! NASSCOM is planning to impact 100+ startups & companies by end of 2015, through NPC Kolkata & 10000 Startup. Kolkata is fast becoming a great place to nurture & grow startups. But if you seriously want to miss the rise of Kolkata as the next destination for startups in India, why go to NPC 2015?
- IT MUST BE HAPPENING IN SOME SEEDY BUILDING IN SALT LAKE…
Yeah, kind of. HYATT REGENCY is maybe a decade old. And its hallways do stink of opulence & may seem drab and sad to your finer senses. Better stay away mate!
- WHY WASTE A TON OF MONEY REGISTERING IN THIS EVENT
Absolutely! If the registration fees in the table below (we flicked this table from the NPC site so don’t tell them!) look atrocious to you and you feel that you can better use that money in your startup, then sure as hell don’t do it! It does look like they are charging the Sun & the moon just for an opportunity to help startups meet VCs & industry bigwigs.
- I DON’T THINK THERE’S ENOUGH TIME LEFT TO REGISTER OR PREPARE
Even though it’s happening on 3rd July, the early bird registration is open only till the 31st May. That’s too little time isn’t it? Forget it, you are far too busy with your work to give this a thought or try registering, even though it happens online here.
We are going to be there at NPC Kolkata 2015 just to make sure that none of you turn up. Please make sure you miss this excellent event, so that the startups, techies & entrepreneurs who are seriously innovative & insanely inquisitive can have their place in the sun.
By the way, if you are confused by our aversion to NPC Kolkata 2015, here’s a secret – we are a sucker for this kinda events & we are really excited to attend NPC Kolkata 2015. We wish them GODSPEED!
You though, are welcome to stay at home or be at the movies while we meet VCs & fun startups!
